Unit 2 Sailing the oceans Warming up and reading I. Analysis of students（学情分析）

In the teaching program, the students are Senior Grade one who are about 16 years old. There are 52 girls and 20 boys in the class. They are naturally curious and imaginative, creative and like participating in some interesting activities, but they do not often have a clear purpose for learning and afraid of making mistakes in that they just have learned some basic knowledge about English. Therefore, in this class, I’ll not only provide a meaningful and definite purpose for learning the language in the activities, but also do some tasks within their ability to stimulate the students’ sense of satisfaction and confidence. As a result, they will dare to express their own idea and don’t afraid of talking in the class. II. Teaching objectives(教学目标)

A. Knowledge Objectives（知识目标）

1. By the end of the class, Ss will be able to have some basic knowledge about some oceans in the world.

B. Ability Objectives（能力目标）

1. By the end of the class, Ss will be able to read the passage quickly and answer some questions according to the passage. 2. By the end of the class, Ss will be able to read the passage carefully and find some detail information of the passage.

IV. Teaching Procedures（教学步骤）

Step1. Warming-up Lead-in (8miutes)（课堂导入）

Activity1: Daily Greeting（师生对话）

Purpose（目的）: daily greeting can give the students’ attention after the short break. And eliminate the barriers between the students and teacher. In this part, I will greet all the students, and the students will response. Activity2: Discussion In this part, students will be divided into two groups, and they will try to talk about how many oceans are their in the world and who will sail the oceans. And they will also talk about some nautical instruments for sailing.

Step2. Fast reading（快速阅读）

Purpose（目的）: The fast reading part is to read the passage quickly and answer some questions.

Activity1: skimming for the main idea

Activity2: answer a question In this part, students will read the passage quickly and answer the question What did people use to help sailing?

Activity3: multiple choices Read the passage again and finish the multiple choices on the ppt.

Step 3: Careful reading（细读）

Activity 1（活动1）. Fill in the chart In this part, students will Work in groups of 6 and try to fill in the chart about how to sail in the sea that are mentioned in the passage. Activity 2（活动3）.Summary In this part, students will fill in the blanks about the summary of what they have learned in today’s class.

Step 4: Speaking（口语练习）

.Imagine you are on a boat with twenty-nine other people. You have a small box for your personal things but it can only hold ten items. What would you need for a week's journey across the North Sea to England?

Step 5: Homework （家庭作业）

Activity1.Share a sentence with students Travel can help us meet different people, experience different cultures, and enjoy beautiful views. Activity2. Show the homework on the ppt. Purpose（目的）: According to The Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve theory（艾宾浩斯遗忘曲线规律）, holding that forgetting began immediately after learning, but the process is not uniform, it gradually becomes slow. So homework is the complement of the teaching process, and it’s very useful for students to review what they have learn t in the class. And homework are as follows: 1. Search more information about sailing in the sea.
