Unit 3 Australia------ reading 1.教学目标

1. Enable the students to learn some information about Australia 2. Train the students’ reading ability. (skimming, detail reading, distinguishing different styles of articles)

Teaching important points：Get some information of Australia in the text Teaching difficult points：Enable the studnets todistinguish styles of extract articles. 3. 学情分析

Students are interested in this topic “Australia”

and they are very active. Although they have a limited vocabulary which can help understand the text, they have the ability of getting information from the reading part, such as fast reading, careful reading. 4.教学过程

Step 1 lead-in Ask students—do you like traveling? what places do you like? Show a video for students. Let them guess which country it is. Then let them say something about each picture and distinguish what city does each picture associates with. Step 2 Fast- reading Show the students a short video and get the students to find the answers from it. Then ask them to predict the main idea and try to describe some scenes in the earthquake by using new words and phrases in this unit. Lead into the text by asking the students: “do you want to know more information about Tangshan earthquake?”

“Are you interested in it?”

设计意图：通过视频和图片导入本节课的主题：唐山大地震, 使学生产生阅读文章的兴趣和欲望；让学生用自己学过的词汇描述图片，锻炼学生的表达能力。
