Teaching objectives 1.

To help the Ss to review the passive voices that they have learned before. 2.

To lead the Ss to discover and understand the passive voice of the present progressive tense according to some examples from the text and what they have learned. 3.

To enable the Ss to acknowledge this structure and to use it in proper situations. II.

Teaching important point & difficult point

Important point: to let the Ss acknowledge the present progressive passive voice and be able to use it freely; Difficult point: to let the Ss distinguish present passive voice from present progressive passive voice; III.

Teaching procedures Step one: Review 1.

Show the Ss some sentences of different tenses and ask them to change the sentences into passive voices, meanwhile present the sentence patterns of each tense. 2.

Then show a sentence using present progressive tense and ask Ss to think about how to change it into its passive voice.

Step two: Observing & Discovering Ask Ss to complete the sentences according to the textbook and try to find out about present progressive passive voice.

Step three: Summary Lead the Ss to summarize the structure of present progressive passive voice and try to answer the question presented in step one.

Step four: Explanation 1)

Explain the usages of present progressive passive voice, including: 1.

3.

少数及物动词的进行时表示按计划、安排将要承受某个动作。

be + under / in + N =be being done

e.g. The bridge is under repair. =The bridge is being repaired.

2) compare present passive voice with present progressive passive voice, using examples for help. e.g. Look! The children are being taken care of by their aunt.

瞧!孩子们现在正由姑姑照看着。(指此时此刻孩子由aunt照顾) Children are taken good care of by their aunt. 孩子们在学校被照看得很好。(指孩子通常是aunt照顾)

Step five: Exercises 1.

Ask Ss to finish the sentences according to the given words and pictures using present progressive passive voice. 2.

Multiple choices. 3.

Ask Ss to write down the correct sentences according to the requirements.

Ask Ss to finish the exercises in the exercise book.
