Step2. Lead-in As we know, with science and technology developing very fast, computers have become smaller and smaller. They have been used in many fields. So, the 21st century is the century of information technology. What does it mean? Does information technology or IT only mean things like computers? Of course not. Actually, it means more than computers. Computers are just one kind of IT. What else do you know is part of IT? (TV, radio, CD-ROM, DVD, books……)

Step3. Listening (SB P 22)



Fast-listening: Have Ss listen to the tape quickly and answer the questions: Questions：

1. How people are there in the listening? 2. What is the relationship between them? A. Husband and wife

Careful-listening: Go through the chart and

make sure the students look at the chart before they listen to the tape. (This is to sharpen their attention and listen for the answers. This will also help them get the gist of the text.) Then Listen to the tape and finish filling in the chart. (If necessary, play the tape for several times.) Part A What does IT include? What is the most popular form of IT? Choices: 1.

Post-listening:

After all, we need something to enjoy ourselves. Of course, we shouldn’t be addicted to playing computer games. If so, it will influence our study greatly, thus hurting us much in the future.
