Period 2 Learning about Language Introduction

In this period students will be first helped by the teacher to discover and learn to use some useful words and expressions. The following steps of teaching may be taken: Warming up reading the text aloud，Discovering useful words and expressions，Read and identify，Consolidating by doing exercises. Objectives To discover and learn to use some useful words and expressions To discover and learn to use some useful structures steps 1.Arousing their interest by watching a performance prepared two of their students. 2.Warming up by reading the words and phrases aloud. 3.Reading aloud to the recording of the text improves our literacy skills — reading, writing, speaking, and listening. So let’s first review the text learned yesterday by reading it aloud. Try to force out your English slowly and clearly.

Discovering useful words and expressions In pairs do the exercises 1, 2 and 3 on page 12. Then ask some of the students to answers the questions. For exercise 1, I divide the whole class into two groups and have a completion between them. The group who answers the most questions will win. And I will give each member 1 point as a bonus. For exercise 2, I will give them 5 minutes and the one who knows the answer can stand up and speak out the answer. If he or she answers the question correctly I will give him or her a small gift as a reward. For exercise 3, I will ask all of the students to read the words together. Then give then five minutes to fill the blanks. I will ask the volunteer to read the passage and then check answer together. Homework
