No.1 Middle School, Changli, Hebei Part1: The analysis of the reading material: This reading is about an agricultural pioneer named Yuan Longping who worked hard to produce a new strain of rice. This hybrid strain of rice produces a higher amount of rice from the same area of land. It has proved so successful that the United Nations is encouraging him to teach other countries how to grow it. Part2: The analysis of the learners Students have watched a series of TV programs called “Touching the Heart of China” and they are familiar with Doctor Yuan Longping.
