Alphabet chant – Octopus （by Nemo）

Teaching objectives: 1.

Revise the chants the students have learned “Apple tree” and “Elephant”. 2.

Learn a new chant “Octopus”. 3.

Grasp the new words: octopus, cock, ox. Teaching aids: PPT Teaching procedure: Step 1 Warming up Free talk. Step 2 Revision Play a guessing game to revise the chant “Apple tree” and “Elephant”. 1.

Show the students a part of a picture to let them guess what it is. Then revise the chant “Apple tree”. Say the chant with the actions. 2.

Use the same way to revise the chant “Elephant”. Step 3 Presentation and practice 1.

Tell the students that the elephant will bring us to the farm and meet his friends to lead in the new unit “Let’s go to the farm!”

Introduce the elephant’s friends one by one and learn the words “cock” and “ox”. Maybe let the students guess out the animals on the farm. 3.

Show the students an octopus to learn it and lead in the new chant. T: The Octopus is very happy. Because all his friends are on the farm. Now

they are saying the chant. Let’s listen. 4.

Play the chant -- Octopus for once, and then ask the students to repeat it for several times. 5.

Ask the students to say the chant and do the actions with the teacher. Step 4 Extension 1.

Ask the students to say out the animals they have learned today. 2.
