Develop students’ teamwork spirit. Teaching Key Points Enable students to appreciate a possible version and grasp the key points of announcement writing. Teaching Difficult Points Help the students to make use of the advanced words and expressions in their writing. Teaching Aids PPT and Computer Teaching Procedure STEP 1 Greetings STEP 2 Duty report The duty reporter’s experience of English Speech Contest. STEP 3 Lead-in Lead students to the topic “Announcement Writing” by using the duty report. STEP 7 Show studetns some pictures of activities involved in the announcement. STEP 8 Ask them about the elements of an announcement “when”, “where”, “what”

and “who”. STEP 9 Show them a sample and a possible version, and ask them to appreciate the format, structure, content and language.

STEP 10 Show them an example of announcement writing, and give them 20 minutes to finish it in a group. Meanwhile, ask one student to write on the blackboard. STEP 11 Proofreading STEP 12 Homework Each group share their writing with others and correct the mistakes.
