How to do Cloze Test better

Teaching content:

Review how to do Cloze Test better.

Teaching aims:

1.To go over the key regulations of how to do Cloze Test.

2.To draw the students' attention to the key words in the passage,according to the context and try to strenthen the students' ability to do Cloze Test better.

3.To practise the Oral Cloze Strategy by practising reading the passage.

Teaching procedure：

Step1.Greetings.

Step2.Free Talk.

Step3.Leading in:

1.Play an English song for the students to enjoy.

2.Let the students think about the key rules of how to do Cloze Test better and then in groups,list them on their notebook.

3.Get the students to read a passage for analysis and discussion,and think about"What's the topic of this passage?"

Step4.Check the students' understanding:

Check the students' understanding to make sure they're right,and avoid misunderstanding.

Step5.Reading and finding:

1.Let the students fill all the blanks according to the right answers.

2.Tell the students what informative words are and how important they are,then let the students read the whole passage quickly and then try to underline the informative words from the passage.

Step6.Practising and checking.

1.Practise reading the whole passage in groups,using the Oral Cloze Stratege.

2.Copy those informative words on their notebook.

3.Ask the students to swap their notebook with their partner and check answers.

Step7.Discussion.Discuss in pairs:

a.How did you get the right answers?

b.How did you get the wrong answers?

c.Which is the more suitable answers according to the context?Why?

Step8.Practising.

Invite the students to do further exercises,then check the answers and discuss in groups.

Step9.Reflection and summary:

Lead the students to reflect and summarise this class.

Step10.Leave today's homework:

1.Go over what we reviewed in class .

2.EXTRA:Finish the passage left on the studying paper.
