About the class The students in Class4 are quite active but they have a poor foundation of English and they have difficulties in learning it. What’ more, they think it boring to study English Grammar and recite words. From this point, they need encouragement and more practice.

About the content

This unit is about breaking records. One of the important aims of this unit is to be aware of the qualifications required for breaking records. The students have finished the study of Intensive Reading and Extensive Reading. Now it is time that they should learn the grammar knowledge of this unit----Subject. In this period, the grammar exercises are presented to Ss step by step from the conception of subject to the difficult and important points. And Ss will be asked to accomplish them in individual and group work after discoveries.

III About the teaching goals 1.Knowledge goals 

To be aware what is a subject and what can be subjects.



To revise subject clause, the use of “it” and the agreement between subjects and verbs. 2.Ability goals 

Learn to identify subjects in sentences. 

Get some skills in using the correct forms of subjects to complete some sentences and a passage.


