一、教学目标：

（一）认知目标：

1.能听懂、会读、会说日常交际用语…ago, he/ she…. Now he/ she…等。

2.能听懂、会说、会读、会写词汇then and now, use, telephone, mobile phone, anywhere, radio, make friends, all over the world, do shopping；能听懂、会说、会读词汇ago, office, newspaper, news, watch, e-book。

（二）技能目标：

1.初步理解Story time的内容，理清文本脉络。

2.能辨析一般过去时和一般现在时。

（三）情感目标：

通过学习Story time，让学生感受到“世界变化飞快，生活变得更好。”

二、教学重难点：

重点：

四、教学过程：

Before class: Listen to a song, and enjoy some pictures. Step1 Warm-up 1.T: Do you like this song? S: ….

T: I liked this song very much when I was sixteen years old. Time flies quickly. Now I am growing up, and the things around us are changing. Look at these things, people used these many years ago, but now we don’t use them again.

2.（总结）The time before, we can use this word: Then. And the time now. 3.T: Today, we are going to learn Unit4, Then and now. We know the world is changing, The things around us are changing, People are changing. For example: Then,I could ride a bike,but I could not drive a car. Now I can drive a car, and I can swim too.This is me. Now can you say something about you? Let’s try.

Step2 Presentation and practice 1. T: We have changed a lot.How about our friend,Mike? Who is he/ she? ( Mr Brown, Mrs Brown, Mike’s grandpa)

2. T: Then, how about this boy? Who were they? Yes, this is Mike / Mr Brown / Mrs Brown ago/ Mike’s grandpa. They have changed a lot. And this lesson, we’ll know more about the changes of Mike’s family.Let’s watch the cartoon and tell me how many years ago?

Check. T&Ss: He/She was ××× years ago. 3. T: The appearance of Mike’s family has changed. Their life is changing, too. Are there any other changes in? Now let’s read the story and find other changes in Mike’s family. Please read and try to catch: what they did then and what they do now. Then underline the words and phrases.
