Using Language Chemical or organic farming?

Analysis of the text This text is on farming methods, which carry on the topic of this unit—working on the land. Nowadays people care more and more about the safety of food and this text will be very helpful for us to have a better understanding of how good crops are grown. But this passage will be a little difficult for students to read, for it has some professional words of farming. Thus the main idea and important details will be discussed at first. This lesson includes reading, speaking and writing, which is to practice students’ comprehensive skills. In the second part of the lesson, role-playing and designing a poster are designed to encourage students to learn by speaking and writing. The two activities will improve students’ ability of using language. Analysis of students Students are in the second term of grade 1. They have learned some reading skills like skimming, scanning and detailed reading. It will not be difficult for them to find answers to questions and grasp main idea of the text. However, most students are afraid of speaking English in class, so role—playing (making dialogues) is planned to inspire students to practice speaking. Designing a poster is a new thing for students, which they will find interesting to have a try. Teaching
