Unit 6 The story of rain 1.
Teaching aims. 1)
知识目标: 能够听、说、读、写“Where does the rain come from? It comes from the clouds.”,并能够替换运用水循环的整个过程。

能力目标: 能够简单讲述水循环的过程,如“Where does the rain come from? It comes from the clouds.”;能够简单叙述小水滴的“旅行经历”,分角色朗读,培养学生良好的语音语调。

情感目标:培养学生热爱大自然的美好情感和节约用水的意识。

Procedures. Step 1: Riddles T: At the beginning of the class, I have some riddles for you. Please look at the screen. (Aims: To review the words cloud, sun, rain, vapour, water) 1)
It goes into the river and stream. It goes into the lake and sea. When it comes, you can see the people take the umbrellas. What is it?

Sometimes it’s white. Sometimes it’s black. Sometimes it looks like a dog. Sometimes it looks like a cat. What is it? ( It’s the cloud.) 3)
It’s big. It’s old. It’s red. It’s warm. It’s round. It comes up in the east. And it goes down in the west. What is it? ( It’s the sun.) 4)
It’s white and light(轻的). It comes from the water. When the sun shines, it comes out and goes up to the sky. What is it? ( It’s the vapour.) 5)
It has no colour. It has no smell. It’s very important for us. We drink it every day. What is it? (It’s the water.) Step 2:
T: We drink water every day. We need water every day. What else needs water? S: Trees/Flowers/Animals/Birds need water. Fish needs water, too. T: Where does water come from? S: It comes from rivers, seas, rain, snow…
Step 3:Presentation 1)
T: Today our topic is the story of rain. Before I tell the story, I will ask you some questions. Where does the rain come from? (Teach it ) S: Cloud. T: Yes. It comes from the clouds. (Teach it ) 2)

S: It comes from the vapour. 3)
T: Where does the vapour come from? S: It comes from the water in the river. 4)
T: How can the water become vapour? (Teach it) T: The sun shines and the water becomes vapour. (Teach it) Step 4: Explain the water cycles. T: Lots of vapour go up in the sky and become clouds. The clouds feel heavy, so they fall down, become the rain. The rain goes into the stream. When the sun comes out and shines, the water in the stream goes up again, becomes the vapour…this is the water cycle. Step 5: Let’s talk on Page 71 T: Please look at the screen. Let’s listen to the conversation.

T: Please look at the blackboard. Let’s say it together. Step 6: Activity T: This time group 1 you’re rain group. Group 2 you’re cloud group. Group 3 you’re water group. Group 4 you’re vapour group. Let’s play a game. When I ask “where does the rain come from?”
The cloud group should stand up and say“It comes from the clouds.”

T: Do you know little water drop? Little water drop has a wonderful trip. Let’s see where does he go? How is his trip? Does he have a lot of fun? Please enjoy the story. (Watch the story.) 2)
Quickly explain the story. 3)
Imitate the roles of Mr wind and Water Drop. 4)
Read it out. Teacher reads the narratage, boys read Mr Wind and girls read Water Drop.
