Teaching plans Step1: Learn some new words about animals. 1. Greetings

T: Good afternoon.

Nice to meet you. 2. Review the words

T: Open your eyes big, and find-What animals do you see?

Ss: I see a tiger/a rabbit/a fox. 3. Learn some new words about animals.

T: How about these animals? Can you tell the names of them? turtle, frog, mouse, tadpole

(Ss try to read the words with the help of the words they’ve already learned) turtle-nurse, hamburger, apple, people, table frog-box, fox mouse-mouth tadpole-cat, bag, home, nose lion, wolf, lamb

(Ss will learn these words with the help of the teacher)

Step2: Lead-in T: There are many interesting stories happen between them.

I know a story between the wolf and the lamb. How about you? Ss: I know a story between … and …. T: Today we are going to learn this story-The lion and the mouse.

Step3: Learn the story

1. T: What’s a lion like?

Ss: It’s tall/strong/big/….

T: What’s a lion like?

Ss: It’s small/short/thin/clever/….

T: What will happen if the lion meet the mouse?

Ss: ….

T: The lion will eat the mouse.

But look at this picture. The mouse is on the head of the lion.

What happens between them?

Let’s learn the story. 2. Number the pictures. 3. Find a sentence for each picture.

Ss: Pic1-The mouse is in trouble.

Pic2-The lion let the mouse go.

Pic3-The lion is in trouble.

Pic4-The mouse helps the lion. 4. T: Pay attention to the phrase-in trouble. Guess the meaning. 5. T: The mouse is in trouble at first, but then the lion let the mouse go.

Why? Let’s learn the talk between the lion and the mouse.

Lion: Little mouse, I will eat you. You are my dinner now.

Mouse: Please, Mr Lion. Please let me go. Maybe I can help you oneday.
