To enable the students to talk about computers and robots in English and express or support an opinion with suitable expressions 3. To enable the students to grasp the progress of computers 4. To enable the students to talk about computers and robots in English Key points 1. To have a good review of the key words and phrases and be able to write the good and bad things about computers . 2. To learn by ourselves and cooperate with each other. 3. To be a hard-working，and practical student. Teaching aids: Computer and projector Teaching procedures: Step1. Lead-in ( Word puzzle ) T: The technology develops so quickly that many new things appear in our life. Let’s guess what they are: (show the picture on the screen and get students to say out the answers, learn the new words at the same time )

1, An old calculating machine used in China until now. (An abacus) 2,It is a new calculating machine which can solve a large number of mathematical problems. (A calculator) 3,It is a personal computer which can solve all kinds of problems and is used widely now. (A PC / personal computer) 4,It looks like a human and can du many things for people.(robot) T: Do you know what they have in common ? Ask students to discuss what the items have in common Answers like the following 

I think they all can calculate something. It can deal with some maths problems. 

I believe that they are our good friends .In our everyday life. We can not finish our work quickly without them. 
