Teaching procedures:

1.Greeting

T: Now it’s time for English class. Are you ready?

2.Review numbers –from 1 to 10

T: We learnt 10 number words last unit, do you remember? Let’s count them together.

Ss: One, two, three… ten.

T: Go on, please.

Ss: Eleven, twelve.(带读)

T: You’re right. These twelve numbers form a clock and we can know time from it.

3.Enjoy a song – Tick Tock time

T: In the song, how to ask about time?

S: What time is it?

T: You got it! Today we will learn Unit 6 What time is it? Here is a learning tip: if you want to know the time, try to be polite and say: What time is it, pl ease?

4.Let’s learn

S: It’s eight o’clock.

T: Great! Please note: when it is intergral point, we can ad d o’clock behind the clock-time word.

5.Ask and answer- pair wok

T: Here are three cl ocks for you. Please work in pairs, one ask and the other one answer.

6.Look and say

T: Look! Here comes our friends. Who are they?

S: They are Liu Tao and his mum.

T: Look at the picture carefully: what time is it, please? It’s…o’clock.

S: It’s seven o’clock.

7.Watch and circle

T: There are also some other clock time in our story, n ow l et’s watch and circle: which time is mentioned in the story? (7:00, 6:00, 9:00)

8.Read and match

T: Liu Tao will do different things in different time and these are the activities in a day. Now please open your books and turn to page 38-39 , read and und erline some key words and sentences: what activities does Liu Tao have at 7:00, 6:00 and 9:00?

T: Who can answer? What time and what can he do?(指向板书) Now l et’s listen and check.
