一、教学理念

英国伦敦学派创始人Firth曾经说过，“Each word when used in a new context is a new word”。可见一词多义或熟词新义现象的普遍性和复杂性。在英语学习过程中，我们应关注这一现象，避免出现只知其一，不知其它，只知大概，不知具体的局面；而要充分揣摩语境，体会语言的丰富多彩。

二、教学设计思路

通过对高考真题和一些常见的学生经常弄错的句子进行对比翻译，就会发现很多平时认为理所当然没有问题的译法结果和BEFORE 的新意大相径庭，before在不同的语境中意思截然不一样。这也正好应证了现在的高考新要求，就是增加了熟词新意的考察。要求学生根据上下文语境去揣摩语义。本微课的设计就是引导学生在不同的句子中before语义的千变万化。从而让学生去体会在学习英语的过程中不能只知其一，更要灵活掌握一词多义的现象。然后总结before的各种用法，之后利用一些练习让学生再去体会before的多种译法。这些内容和句子全部取自各省的高考真题，所以对学生有效把握高考命题动向有一定的帮助和引导作用。同时引导学生进行自主探究，符合新课标精神。 三、教学背景

学情分析

学生在初中就已经学习了before引导的状语从句，而学生仅仅只知道before就只有“在。。。之前，以前”这一个意思。所以在进入高中后的必修一第一单元就出现了before的新用法，学生很茫然----难道自己学错了等问题。所以本微课就专门例举和总结在不同的句子和语境当中before的各种译法就及时帮助学生解决了这个难题。

四、教学设计流程

1) It +was/wasn’t+ 时间段

+ before ... 表示“过了多久/没过多久…才…”；主句be动词有时为would/wouldn’t 时，before从句用一般过去时

2)It +will/won’t be+ 时间段

+ before ...

表示“还得过多久/用不了多久…就会…”；主句be动词有时为may be，before从句常用一般现在时表将来________ II. Discuss in groups .The students can co-operate with one another .
