Teaching Aims教学目标

1.Knowledge aims知识目标: a.Help the Ss understand and master the related words and expressions; b.Let the Ss know the basic information about endangered animals and wildlife protection. 2.Ability aims能力目标: Encourage the Ss to think and express their attitudes towards the wildlife and wildlife protection. 3.Emotional aims情感目标: a.Help the Ss understand the importance of wildlife protection and make them be active in helping wildlife; b.Develop the students’ sense of cooperative learning



Teaching Procedures教学过程

General Greeting Step1:Lead-in

Look at two pictures and answer the questions: Have you ever been to these places? What can you see in these places?

Wildlife:animals and plants that live and grow in a natural environment.

It can refer to plants but more commonly refer to animals.

Step2: Enjoy the movie King of Lion

欣赏电影《狮子王》

Please try to find out what animals you can see in the movie. Do you often see these animals? Why? (Three students do role playing and tell us the reasons.) They are rare and precious./They are dying out./They are in danger of disappearing. Step3 : Exploration Discuss in pairs: Why are they in danger of disappearing?(not enough food, killing, tree-cutting, pollution, disease…

) Watch a video and answer questions: What do you know from the video?

Killing What do people kill or hunt these animals for?

The tiger is killed for bone. The rhino is killed for horn. The elephant is killed for ivory. The antelope is killed for fur. The turtle is killed for shell. The bear is killed for gall bladder.

Look at some pictures and explore the reasons of food shortage and destruction of habitats. Step4: Interview

Suppose you will be interviewed by a reporter from WWF. Give your opinions to the reporter on what we can do to help endangered animals by using the following expressions.

•

We must stop doing …

What can we do to help endangered animals? Treat them as our friends. Protect the environment around us. Stop killing them freely. Tell people around you the importance of wildlife protection…

Step 5:Survey

There has been some progress in saving endangered animals in China. In order to know the facts better, we have made a survey. They will Show us the results.

As long as everyone devotes a bit of love, the world will become a better one.
