Teaching content: This lesson is Lesson 11 what do they eat? In unit 2 .This unit is mainly about animals at the zoo. In the past few lessons, we have learned some words and patterns about animals ,such as where do they live? How many __-are there? What can they do and so on. And this lesson mainly deals with what do they eat. The topic is quite related to our daily life so it is not difficult for the students to understand. 二

The students

Our students are in Grade 3. They are active and curious, interested in new things. After learning English for more than half a year, they have got some basic knowledge about English background and some knowledge about English learning. I will try my best to create an active atmosphere for the students to learn English. 三

Teaching procedures: Step1

Warming

up

1.Sing a song.(To create an active atmosphere of learning English.)

2 Present different animals on ppt and ask students to read and act.(To lead the students into a world of animals and help them get a good preparation)

3. T: there are so many animals here. Do you like animals? I love animals. Now I am the keeper. I keep some animals. Let’s see what they are. Show the sounds and pictures. Let the students have a guess.(To stimulate the students’

Show the word eat and practise it again and again. Ask:What do they eat? Step3

Presentation

1.show different pictures and ask what do cats/monkeys/cows/tigers eat? And write them on the blackboard. Ask students to listen and

read them in different forms: together, in groups, boys and girls, individuals, low and high. ( To help the students learn the new language in a lively and interesting way.)

2.Let's chant!

And have a PK between teams.

What do they eat? Fish, fish cats eat fish grass,grass cows eat grass bananas,bananas monkeys eat bananas meat, meat tigers eat meat

Then ask different teams to show their chanting to see which team is the best. （chanting is a good way of practing what we have learned as it can stimulate the students’ interests of learning and PK can train their ability of working together.）

3.Practice.

Show many pictures of animals on ppt. Ask what do they eat? Have a PK to see which group can make the most sentences. (To broaden the students’

knowledge about animals as well as have a revision about the new pattern_______eat______)
