This unit introduces English humour to students. And it's the first part in the workbook of this unit. The lesson aims at drilling their the listening and speaking ability, which contains a short story for listening and some oral materials for speaking and acting. So the teacher needs to add more materials for them to practise, as well as widen their knowledge about humour.

Get the students to practise their listening ability, and learn some skills about listening . 

Get the students to practise their spoken English.



Get some fun in English learning.

Part II: Analysis of the students 分析学生

The students are in senior grade one, who have the basic listening and speaking ability in English, so do they learn something about the topic "a taste of English humour". And "humour" is an interesting and common topic for them to discuss. So it is likely that they would involve actively in the class activities.

The weakness is that they may be nervous and may not be interested in some kinds of humour. So it's challenging for the teacher to motivate them and inspire them to express their ideas.

Part VI: Teaching reflection: 教学反思

This lesson is aimed at training the students' listening and speaking ability, while enjoy some humour in English. So I design the lesson with the input-output pattern, in which the get enough information from the materials before they have to finish the exercise. And while practising, the students also learn cooperation with their partners. What's more, I encourage them to appreciate the humour fully while they are drilling their ability in English.

I hope they can find more fun and learn to be a happy man in life after this lesson.
