Unit 3 Australia Teaching aims:

Knowledge aim: enable students to know some information about Australia. 2.

Emotion aim: arouse students’interest about Australian scenery and culture. 3.

Ability aim: improve students’reading skills. Teaching key points:

Improve the students’reading ability and develop their reading skills. Teaching difficult points:

Help students use reading skills to mater the main idea of the passage. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Leading-in Look some pictures about Australia, including Australian map, national flag, Sydney Open House, Uluru, animals and so on. Step 2 Fast reading

Give the students five minutes and some tips to help them find out the main idea of the passage. Step 3 Careful reading Read the passage again and answer the questions about Australia. 1.
