Read these words correctly: lion wolf fox cow pig duck sheep snake hippo . 3.

Learn to describe your favourite animals,using the following patterns:

Does it live in Africa/on a farm?

Has it got two/four legs?

Does it eat grass/other animals?

Can it swim/run fast/fly?

Does it like water/vegetables? 4.

Say the chant fluently. Key points:

Nine key words and those patterns used to describe animals. Difficult points: the spelling of those 9 words.

Steps Step 1. Warming up

Say

the chant: Have you got a pet?

Practice: Have you got a pet?

What is it?

What colour is it?

Has it got two/four legs?

Does it eat grass/ other animals/vegetables?

Has it got big ears/big eyes/a big nose/ a long tail?

Step 2. Presentation

It is never too much to practice in language learning, as long as the necessity of diversity, interest and adequacy is met. 2.

I think the distinctive difference between first and second language learning is as follows: We learn first language in a real context and in a gradual way which takes a long time. In second language learning, we are in an artificial context, which makes the learning less intriguing. We learn second language in a concentrated way. As a result, we should diversify our teaching methods,especially the drilling patterns.
