Teaching Plan I：Teaching content: Warming up, Pre-reading and Reading II：Teaching aims: ①

Knowledge aim: Enable students to get the general idea of the passage and learn more about agriculture, farming and countryside. ②

Ability aim: To train students’ abilities to do fast reading and detail reading.

③ Emotion aim: Make students realize the role agriculture plays in human life, Dr Yuan’s achievement to human beings and learn from his noble character. III：Teaching key points and difficult points: 1. How to improve students’ skill to find the answer quickly and correctly and their abilities to find the detail information. 2. How to cultivate students’ consciousness to respect agriculture and cherish food. IV: Teaching methods: Task-based method, discussion, canning, skimming

V :Teaching aids multimedia, blackboard, PPT. VI：Teaching procedures: Step one: lead in (2minutes) Show students a video clip and ask them a question about whether the boy deserves punishment.

Step two: warming up（7mimutes）

①Tell students the main idea of the video clip and then ask them if they know how to grow grain? ②Show them the pictures of the procedure of growing grain. Teach them to read and remember the phrases, then use flow diagram to consolidate their memories. Show the steps:

2) seed 3) insert the young plants into the fields

1. Rice is our main food. What do you think would happen if tomorrow there was suddenly no rice to eat?
