Step1 Revision-Dictation about words in this unit by students themselves.

Procedure1 Self-dictation Teacher’s words: Take out your notebook and dictation book, and dictate yourselves about all the words in the odd numbers of this unit. One volunteer comes to the blackboard to set an example. Aim of this step:学生在课上进行单词的自考，可解决传统的教师读单词占用教师的精力不能巡视学生的听写情况的问题，同时学生自考可提高相同时间内学生书写单词的数量，极大地提升了课堂效率。

Procedure2 Check answers of the words Teacher’s words: Look at the blackboard and try to find some mistakes. If there is not any ,read all of them together. Aim of this step:学生自纠错误，形成习惯，让学生在学习方面形成不依赖老师，自己对自己负责的学习习惯。同时查看学生读音方面的问题，并就部分单词的词义进行双向抽查，引导学生进行词义的双向记忆。

Step2 Lead in

Procedure1 Ask a question which was discussed last lesson Teacher’s words: What should be done if the wildlife protection is to succeed? If the wildlife protection is not to succeed, what will happen to animals? Aim:以问题的形式帮助学生回忆上节课内容，同时通过此话题的讨论顺理成章地导入到本节课文章的标题。

Procedure1 Lead in

Read the title of the text Aim:通过读标题让学生训练通过标题判断文章大意的阅读技巧。

2 Say some words in the same meaning with the word extinction. Aim:通过寻找同义词的方式，让学生复习上节课主要短语，并通过该方式有效引入新的单词，使学生对生词的接受更加容易。

3 Look at the picture beside the text, and guess which animal will be talked about in this text. Aim:让学生结合图片内容和标题一起推断文章内容，使学生在进入文章前有足够的心理准备，以此来降低阅读的难度。

4 Find the supporting sentences from the text to support your idea. Aim:通过阅读寻找依据来支持对文章推断内容的正确性，同时训练学生有效地找到文章的Topic sentence。

Procedure2 Careful reading---Paragraph 1 1.

Read the text and find information about the given keywords listed on the blackboard. tens of millions of years ago many different kinds of twenty five species be surprised to find Aim:训练学生通过所给关键词对文章信息进行定位，学生在完成此题的过程中训练了阅读中的查读能力，同时也能够通过关键词附带出来的信息对文章内容进行简化和强化，对基础较差的学生这一做法帮助学生降低了阅读的难度。

How did they learn that? What the ending of the special dinosaur? Aim:以上关键词全部来自文章原文，亦为本段落中的语言重点。通过上述两道题当中的词语提示让学生进行文段的有效复述，可帮助学生强化对语言知识的记忆，同时加深对文章内容的理解。

Procedure3 Careful reading---Paragraph 2 Read paragraph 2 and list the reasons why it died out 1.

Nobody knows for sure Aim:通过对恐龙灭亡原因的探究，学生能够在老师此问题的引领下高效地完成对文段内容的理解。

Procedure4 Careful reading---check students’ understanding of the text Fill in blanks about the text on newspaper. Aim:有效地利用学生手里的教辅材料辅助教学，既对学生掌握文章内容进行了必要的梳理和检测，又对教材的内容进行了必要的重组与补充。

Procedure5 Careful reading---Paragraph 3 Look at the picture on the book. Can you see an animal like a bird on this page.

Do you know the name of it? Read the last paragraph together and translate it. Aim:通过书上的图片让学生对听力内容提前做出预测，做好听前准备。

Step4 Listening Listen to the tape about Dodo and choose the sentence which gives the main idea of the story. Listen to the tape and choose the correct answer to complete each sentence. Repeat the last sentence of the listening material.
