They can perform the story. 3. They can sing the song very well. 4. They can understand the story and train their good reading habit. Text Types Revision Teaching Aids or Resources CD, book, PPT Teaching Procedures I. Warmer/Revision 1. Greetings. 2. Dictate the new words and sentences they have learnt in this Unit. 3. Look and say for reviewing. Have the Ss look at the pictures on the big screen and say the sentences with comparative adjectives or superlative adjectives. II. The presentation of the new material 1. Free talk Talk about your things at school with your classmates. How long is your ruler? How heavy is your school bag? 2. Play a guessing game. Give the Ss an example. T: He is a lovely boy. He is taller than Oscar. But he isn’t the tallest one in our class. He is stronger than Peter. He studies English better than many kids. Who is he?

Encourage the Ss to describe their classmates or animals like this. 2. Question time. Have the Ss talk freely. “Can you play football?

Have you ever been a goalkeeper?” (Maybe some Ss don’t understand the meaning of this word “goalkeeper”. The teacher can do actions for helping them.)

Give the Ss some questions before watching the video. Q1: Who wants to be a goalkeeper? Q2: What does a goalkeeper look like? Q3: Who became the goalkeeper at last? 4. Watch carefully and try to answer the above questions. Then check their answers.

III. Drill 1. Read the story carefully and think about some detail questions. Q1: Can Deer and Giraffe be the goalkeeper? Why? Q2: How tall is Mr. Zebra? Q3: How heavy is Deer? 2. Ask some Ss to answer these questions. 3. Do a role play about the story in small groups. 4. Ask several groups to come to the front and try to perform. IV. Practice 1. Enjoy the song “My small cat”

Listen to the song first and then the teacher will pay attention to their pronunciation. Then let them sing the song in chorus. 2. Sing the song by different teams. 3. Encourage the Ss to change some words, and follow the melody to create a new song. V． Consolidation Show their new song. Teacher can give them feedback. VI. Homework 1. Do a dictation about useful expression on page 60. 2. Retell the story to your friends.
