Teaching time: 40 minutes Overall Design and Guiding Principles: This is a wording learning lesson which aims to help students learn some words of unit two by means of three kinds of games. In the process of playing games, students’

listening, speaking, spelling and understanding abilities will be fully exercised. In order to create a relaxing learning atmosphere, teaching methods will include communicative language teaching method and task-based teaching method . In this class, there are three kinds of games which are Voice tube,

Gone in 60 seconds and Who's still standing. The first step is to explain the rules of the game clearly. After the students all understanding the game, the game begins. At the end of each round of the game, the winning and losing statistics will be scored on the balckboard in groups. At the end of class, the final winning group will be selected. Teaching Context Analysis of teaching material:

The class aims at help students learn some words of unit two by way of listeing, speaking, spelling and understanding. This lesson is made up of three games which includes Voice tube,Gone in 60 seconds and Who's still standing. The first game will focus on listening and speaking skills. The second game will pay attention to spelling skills. The last game will center on understanding the meaning of words. Analysis of students: The students of this class are in senior one. Although they have learned high school English for half a semester, most of the students still find it difficult to recite English words. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to help students regain confidence in learning words. In this class, students can not only play games, but also learn English words. Teaching Aims Aims of knowledge: (1) master some important words, such as: summary, comment, disturbing and so on. Aims of ability: (1)master four skills including listening, speaking, spelling and understanding. (2)be able to understand correct words through listening. (3) be capable of speaking the right pronunciation of words. (4)memorize the correct spelling order of words.

(5)master the meaning of some important words. Aims of emotion: (1) build confidence towards words learning. (2)learn to be active and cooperative in group works. Key Points and Difficult Points Key Points: (1) master some key words of unit two. (2)be able to use four kinds of skills including listening, speaking, spelling and understanding. Distinguish words through listening and speaking. (2)

listening recording Teaching Procedure: Step 1: Reading the words together

The purpose of my design: Let students familiarize the pronunciation of the words of unit two. Step 2:Game begins First show the game rules at the beginning of each game. Then game begins. Finally, record the results of group competition on the blackboard. First game: Each student repeats the word to the next student in a group in a whisper. The time starts when the first student sees the word and ends when the last student finishes writing the word. If the spelling is right, the fastest group wins.

vocabulary included in round one: bacteria, statistic, summary, circulate, nationality. vocabulary included in round two:mineral, disturbing. Second game:Each student will be randomly given 3 or 4 letters from 26 letters. According to the spelling order, students stick the correct letters to the blackboard. Two people are not allowed to stand on the platform at the same time. If a letter needs to be used again, it can be written by any person with chalk on the blackboard. vocabulary included in round one:expand.

Third game: According to the order of seats, one student in each group writes the word meaning on the paper. He or she sits down if he is wrong. The time limit is 20 seconds each round. The answer beyond the time is considered invalid. After 9 rounds, the group which has more standing students wins.

The purpose of my design:

First, understanding the rules of the game is to make the game go smoothly. Then the purpose of the game is to help students master the words better. Last but not least, the group competition is to arouse the interests of students. Step 3: Homework: recite the words of unit two.
