Cultural relics---a fact or an opinion?

教学目标：

1. Get students to know and understand the reading passage- A fact or an opinion. 2. Develop the students’ ability of reading.

教学步骤：

Step1: Greetings “Today it is a good day and I will go swimming with my brother.”

Is this sentence a fact or an opinion?

Step2: warming–up Ask students to judge whether the following sentences are facts or opinions. 1.

China has the largest population in the world 2.

Yao Ming is 226 centimeters tall. 3.

Some students think that it’s easier to learn math than physics. 4.

I think driving a car is wrong. 5.

St Petersburg is a very beautiful city, which was once called Leningrad.

Step2: reading Task 1. Ask Students to read the passage on page 5 and answer the following questions: 1. What is a fact? 2. What is an opinion? 3. What is an evidence? Task 2. Finish the exercises on P12 on NANFANG XINKETANG.

Step3: Discussion

Read the story on P 5 on our English Book and then fill in the table on P5.Then decide whether the story is a fact or an opinion and give the reasons.

Step4: Homework

Read the passage again and underline the useful expressions.
