Speaking Class For PEP Primary School Grade 6 Unit 4



Teaching material The text is taken from PEP Grade 6 Unit 4 . This lesson will review the sentence patterns in this unit . The content is about past tense and present tense, thus it’s a bit confused.



Students’ status analysis Grade 6 students have already learned past tense in Unit2 and Unit3, so it would be acceptable for them to understand the difference between past tense and present tense. However, when these two tenses combine together, students will be confused.



Teaching objectives After learning this lesson, students will be able to: (1)Use the sentence patterns to describe what happened in the past and the present situation: ... was/were ... / There was/were... / ... is/are... / There is/ are...

(2)Read and understand the meanings of some new words: raw meat, cavemen, whale, bright future, heal... (3)Understand the environmental problems and cultivate their awareness of protecting the earth. . 

T help Ss retell the story with the help of the pictures. In this part, T try to cultivate the students’

awareness of protecting the earth.

Ss will say after the example and try to describe the pictures in with different tenses.

10 mins Ss watch the story
