Teaching procedure: Step 1: Presentation of the –ing form as the subject 1.

The usage of the –ing form as the subject

Get the Ss to pay attention to the agreement between the subject and the verb. 3.

Get the Ss to master some useful sentence structures using “it ”as the formal subject 4.

Put the sentence structures into use Step 2: Presentation of the –ing form as the object 1.

Get the Ss to brainstorm which verbs are followed by –ing 2.

Summarize some verbs followed by –ing 3.

Practice and then get the Ss to make their own sentences using –ing as the object. 4.

Get the Ss to brainstorm which verbs can be followed by both the infinitive and the –ing form, and then compare the differences

Get the Ss to do some exercises related to –ing form and the infinitive as the object. Step 3: Summary Step 4: Homework
