Unit 1. Learning about the language 1.

Teaching goals: 1)

To develop the students’ ability to use the new words and expressions freely; 2)

To guide the students to communicate with each other , meanwhile consolidate the new knowledge with the help of what they have learnt; 3)

To help the students build self-confidence, especially in expressing themselves in public. 4)

After revision in the exercises, wish the students to develop their awareness of protecting the cultural relic..

2. Teaching object: senior school students in Grade One

3. Teaching Background: Students have already finished studying the passage and can remember the basic meaning and expression of the new vocabulary.

4. Teaching method: Task-based teaching

5. Teaching important points and difficult points: The students can master the basic part of speech of new words but always mix them up , besides, they still have trouble in using them correctly. 6. Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Deal with the exercises about new words and phrases on P3.

1)Revise participle used as Atribute 2)Revise the following words:Select, rare, amaze, less than, in search of, survive, remove etc 3)lay a foundation of the subject clause. Step 2: Revision For New Sentence Patterns Step 3: Make up a passage with what's learned Leave some time for the students to make up a story with the new expressions of the unit and then share them with each other

Step 4: Homework

Memorize the new expressions and different forms of the words.
