Unit 7 Time

The first period

一、教学目标:1. 学习新单词time , o’clock , eleven , twelve ,what time; 2. 学会运用十二个数词表达和运用句型”What time is it?”询问整点时间,以及作答;

3. 使学生能运用所学语言知识在创设的情景中熟悉的交际,并应用于生活;

4. 培养学生珍惜时间的良好品德。

二、教学重点:

1. 学会读整点的钟,并掌握询问时间的(特殊疑问句)句型及回答: What time is it?It’s …o’clock .

三、教学难点:1. twelve的读音和拼写,clock和o’clock的区分; 2. 询问时间的(特殊疑问句)句型及回答。

PPT,实物钟

五、教学过程:

Step 1. Warming up

1. (show ten books) T: What are these ? Ss: They are books .

T: How many books are there ? Let’s count !

Ss: One, two, three, … ten .

2. T: Good . We have learnt one to ten. Let’s review them. Can you sing

the song “Ten Indian Boys” ?Let’s spell the numbers and then sing together .

Step 2. Presentation and practice

1. (show 11 books to Ss) T: How many books are there now ? Let’s count . Ss: One, two … ten …eleven

T: Eleven . (板书:eleven)

2. Spell: e-l-e-v-e-n . (Pairs , Rows )

3. (show 12 books .) Count the books and learn “twelve”.

(板书:twelve) Then spell:t-w-e-l-v-e . (Bs and Gs)

4. (show a clock.) T: What’s this?

Ss: It’s a clock.

T: Good! Look! What time is it? Who knows?

S1: It’s seven o’clock.

(板书:time and o’clock) Correct the pronunciation and tell the differences between a clock and o’clock.

5. (Task Ss) Change the clock T: What time is it?Ss: It’s …o’clock .

6. T: Who can ask me?

Ss: What time is it ? It’s …o’clock .

(板书:What time is it?It’s eleven/ twelve o’clock .)

7. Play a game about time and practice.

8. (Open the books at P49) Listen to the tape . Listen and read “Vocabulary” . Read together .

Step 3 Consolidation

1.(Turn to P51)Finish Activity 1. Look , read and match .

2. Discussion: One student asks and the other answers according to the pics which are some activities about people.

3. Do exercises . (Write down the time and draw out the time on the clock. )

Step 4. Summary

Today we learn to ask about the time .

How to ask ? “What time is it ?

“It’s …o’clock .”

Step 5. Homework

1. Copy the new words and sentences .

2. Read “Vocabulary” two times .
