一、教学目标: 1.知识目标

（1)学习四个动物词汇：wolf、tiger 、bear、snake和两个描述动物特征的词汇：long、short.

（2）会唱英文歌曲: Big and Small。

2.能力目标: （1)能听、说、读、写六个词汇wolf、tiger、bear、snake、 long、short. （2）能运用所学的词汇结合句式What’s this?It’s a/an____.Look at___.It’s_____.Its_______和同学谈论描述动物。

(3)能在创设的半真实的情境中运用本课所学知识与同学交流，谈论自己最喜欢的动物。

3.情感目标: （1）通过创造活泼欢快的氛围，激发学生的好奇心和探究心，让学生快乐轻松、激情四射地学习英语。

（2）通过猜测、听音、儿歌、歌曲，手语和创设情境等多种形式,激发学生强烈的学习兴趣，并采用教师评价，个人评价和小组评价的方式，促使学生拼搏进取，团结协作。

（3)教育学生热爱大自然，保护人类的朋友--动物。

二、教学重难点

教学重点：

1.能听、说、读、写六个词汇wolf、tiger、bear、snake、 long、short. 2.能运用所学的词汇结合句式What’s this?It’s a/an____.Look at___.It’s_____.Its_______和同学谈论描述动物。

教学难点：

it’s和 its 的区别，is 和are的正确使用。

四、教学过程：

Step One:Greeting

Teacher:Are you happy? Are you ready? Class:I’m very happy .Ready! Go! (设计意图：简短的问候，开心的回答，洪亮的声音，有力的动作，分组的奖励，让学生一开课就感到开心，得到鼓励，充满激情。) Step Two:Review

1.Show a picture of a zoo and ask:What’s this? In Lesson 7 we learned three animals at the zoo,do you remember? 2.Ask and answer:What’s this?It’s a/an_____. A:look and answer :Look at a picture of a tiger and answer. B:Liten and guess:Listen to the voices of the monkey and the elephant and answer. 3.Let’s chant:

Clap hands and use hand language while chanting to revise the words“fat, thin ,big and small ”.

Big , big , big. The elephant is big. Small , small , small. The bird is small. Fat ,fat, fat . The panda is fat. Thin, thin, thin .The monkey is thin. 4.Evaluate and lesson hook: Tell the students that they did a great job and give flowers to Boys’Team and Girls’Team. Then say:You’re so clever ,so in this class in Lesson 8,I will teach you another four animal words at the zoo. Show the title :Lesson 8 Tigers and Bears. （设计意图：通过视觉和听觉，说和唱，再加上动嘴又动手，全方位调动学生的注意力和积极性，让学生在复习环节里就全身心沉浸在课堂学习中，为新授做了充分的知识准备和精神准备。）

Step Three:New Concepts 1.What’s this (1)Look and say: a tiger (2)Look and guess: a bear( Hide the bear a half.) (3)Look and guess:a snake(Hide the whole snake.) (4)Listen and guess:a wolf(play the voice of the wolf.) (5)Let’s chant: Tiger , tiger, tiger. Big big tiger. Wolf , wolf, wolf. Small small wolf. Bear, bear ,bear. Fat fat bear. Snake, snake, snake. Thin thin snake. (6)Let’s sing:First chant the words of the song ,then sing the song”Big and small”. (7)Let’s write :Write the four words on the blackboard while the students read and spell. (设计意图：四个动物采取四种不同的呈现方式，

采用升降调的拼读方式，配合有节奏的手语，符合三年级好奇心强，活泼好动的年龄特点。把音标教学润物细无声般地渗透在单词教学中，把单词教学无时无刻地融汇在语境教学中，做到音形义的结合，音不离词，词不离句，为孩子的准确发音，为孩子运用所学语言进行交流交际做好充分铺垫。) 2. Long or short

(1)Lesson hook:fat thin big small (2)New words:long short Show two snakes and compare them:It’s long .It’s short. (3)Practise:Two pictures :an elephant and a pig Its nose is long. Its nose is short. (4)Pay attention to the differences of“it’s and its”。

Step Four:Check For Understanding

1. Lessson Hook: The teacher says:Now we have learned seven animals at the zoo and six words to describe them,so I think we can go to the zoo and talk about them in English,can you?Let’s try. Look !This is “a bus”,we can go to the zoo “by bus”.Who wants to go to the zoo with me “by bus”? Let’s have a test.Are you ready? 2.Test One: Individual Work:Listen,answer and read (1)Listen and answer: The teacher says:Jenny and Li Ming are at the zoo,what animals do they see?When one student answer the question correctly ,the teacher asks her or him to sit on the “bus” in front of the class. (2)Read the dialogue: (3)Practice: Look at the elephant/rabbit.It’s nose is long. It’s tail is short.It’s ears are long. (设计意图：通过创设半真实的情境，让学生通过三层闯关，坐上“公交”去动物园，使学生身临其境，敢说易说乐说，又积极参与，拼搏进取。) 3.Test Two:Pair Work:Talk about the animals. (1)Show four pictures of a tiger,a pig ,a rabbit and a wolf , ask the students to talk about them like this: Look at the tiger.It’s big.It’s tail is long. (2)Check the answer.When one student talk about the animal well, the teacher asks two parters to sit on the“bus” in front of the class and give each one a flower. 4.Test Three:Group Work:Talk about your favourite animals. (1)Show many pictures of animals ,and ask the students

in a group of four to talk about them like this: I like the _____(tiger elephant rabbit panda monkey ). Look at the ____ (tiger elephant rabbit panda monkey ). It’s ____(big small fat thin ).

Its ___(nose tail mouth ears eyes) is ___(big small long short ) (2)Check the answers.When one student talk about the animal well, the teacher asks four parters to sit on the“bus” in front of the class and give each one a flower.

(设计意图：三层闯关，以情感为线，

由易到难，层层递进，让学生在个人活动、同伴活动和小组合作中，团结协作，不断挑战自己超越自己。可爱的动物，自由的选择，轻松的氛围，融洽的关系，让学生愉悦欢快地参与到活动中，运用所学英语进行交际。)

Step Five: Expansion and Extension 1.Look at some pictures to show that animals are our good friends.These pictures will make the students happy and love animals. 2.Look at some pictures in which many animals were killed.

These pictures will make the students very sad and want to protect the animals.

3.The teacher says:To protect animals is to protect our human oneself. Let us act together to protect human’s good friends - animals!

保护动物就是保护我们人类自己。让我们一起行动起来，保护人类的好朋友---动物！

Step Six:Class Closing 1.Summing up 2.Homework: (1)Learn the new words by heart. (2)Draw a picture about your favourite animal and write some words.
