Lesson 7 seasons of the year Hello everyone. I’m glad to talk about my teaching design here. Take this chance, I’m willing to share my lesson with all of you .
一、
Teaching content: It’s lesson 7 of unit2 of primary English Book .This unit is mainly about Seasons and The Weather. Following their study experience ,we help the students learn new words , new phrases and new sentence structures. This lesson includes 2 parts , Seasons and Seasons in my city . The content of this lesson is very close to our daily life . So it is good to stimulate their interest and enthusiasm. Teaching aims: The standards tell us in primary school stage our aim is to develop
the students’
ability of using language . According to the actual situation I design the teaching aims as following: A . Language knowledge aim By the end of this lesson students will be able to listen, read , recognize and use these words: season, spring , summer , winter. And these sentences: Summer is from __to __, winter is from ___to ____. B . Language ability aim: On the process of mastering these new words and sentences help the students to develope good habits of training their brains , mouths and
hands. Help them to get used to communicating with each other in English they have learned . C. Emotional aim: To guide the students to love our beautiful hometown . Main points and difficult points:
Talking about seasons is very important in conversational skills. So it is the important main points. Using the words and sentences freely is the difficult points.
二、About our students For Grade four students,
they haven't contact four seasons before, we should use natural pinyin method to read and train, but for the words warm, hot, cool, cold , they have already learned in Grade three , we can use them directly. For part 2 Seasons in my city, students can complete the understanding by means of self-exploration. 三、Teaching and learning methods: 1.Teaching method:
Pupils are active,aggressive and have strong ability to imitation, so I take the interest method, task-based teaching method ,communication and game method. In the teaching process, I make full use of modern means of teaching ,thinking and activities naturally for cooperation and exchange. So make them happy to learn English and study by themselves. 2.Learning method:
I use listening ,reading , single word and sentence practice ,pair work ,group work,etc to cultivate their group cooperative learning and problem-solving abilities. 3.Teaching means:
According to the intuitive ,fun and practical principles of the English teaching, combine with this lesson ,I use pictures , songs and teaching aids aid teaching. 四、Teaching process: 1.Warming up To review the months (1–
12 ). To review the words of how to describe the seasons ( hot , cool ,cold ,warm). 2.Leading the topic From the cold and warm months
to the cold and warm seasons. to ask the students
Which month is warm/cold/cool/hot? Which season is warm/cold/cool/hot? 3. Presentation :
For the first part of the study, I from words to sentences. a.words For the words, I use pinyin teaching method, to make combined with pinyin, so it is easier to learn .
b.practice Then I designed a game of reading and pointing, a student in English, a student in Chinese, and a student in a picture, to make the practice more interesting.
c.sentences Finally, when teaching sentences, I used chant, group competition, to enhance students' enthusiasm for learning.
Part2 Learning for the second part of Seasons in my city, I adopted the method of independent inquiry, first through self-study completion dash, to master this lesson objectives, Summer is from___to___, winter is from___to__.
By looking at the map, then understand why is China different from Australia? On the one hand, learning the phrase be different from, on the other hand, it enables students to understand the climate differences around the world . 4. Cooperation Group cooperation, discussion to complete the climate characteristics of different places in China, I give the city is the capital city of Beijing, the northern city of Shenyang, the southern city of Haikou, students understand China climate characteristic, make English learning is not only to learn a foreign language, but also a subject
to develop students'
comprehensive quality. 5.Extention Students talk about their
hometown characteristics of the four seasons, this is the difficulty of this class,. In order to break
the difficulties, I adopted to make the situations. I am a small speaker to describe the characteristics of their hometown , arouse the students' love for their hometown, and use seasonal postcards as a reward to enhance students' enthusiasm for learning. 6. Homework In order to consolidate the teaching objectives of this course, I designed two assignments. 7. Blackboard writing show the four seasons, make the content concise and clear . Teaching evaluation:
In order to foster the students’interest of English learning, teaching
evaluation is much more important. For my lesson , I would like to help them to take a competition
among the small groups.During the competition some encouraging words are necessary.With the process of the class I would use words,body postures,actions or facial expressions to encourage my pupils to stimulate their interest and enthusiasm of English learning .During the class we should always prize the students and
try not to criticize them.
