Knowledge Objectives: 1. Students can understand the new vocabularies：start/ really/ late/ win. 2. Students know how to use the key sentences:

-What time is it? - It’s ______. - Let’s ______. Ability Objectives:

Students can understand the main idea of the story, then read and try to act out the story with emotion. Emotional Objectives: 1. Students will be more interested in English reading. 2. Students can understand the moral of the story: Keep on going, never give up.

【Teaching Time】40 minutes 【Teaching Procedures】

Step 1. Greetings and lead-in Play a number game, then guide students to guess and say the time. 【设计意图】1、数字游戏是为了复习与本课有关的数字单词和活动类的词组，同时也起到热身的作用。2、拿出用水果盘制成钟表，不让孩子看钟表正面，让孩子猜测这是什么？一是可以发散学生思维并运用以前所学的旧知来表达所想，二是当孩子们看到一个普通的水果盘被老师改装成了一个漂亮立体的钟表并且还能移动，会激发他们表达的欲望，同时巧妙的引出了本故事的重要角色。

Lead-in

Who will win in the story? 【设计意图】1、通过图片、语言和动作引导孩子们了解兔子和乌龟的状态,为后续的故事情节做铺垫。2、本环节让孩子通过描述兔子和乌龟的外貌来预设结果，一是可以复习学过的知识并与新知识相融合，为学生在表演故事环节提供更多的语言素材；二是激发孩子的兴趣，为小故事的学习做情感铺垫。

【设计意图】带着问题看故事，初步感知故事情节，培养学生整体理解故事大意的能力，训练孩子们看图回答问题的能力。

Circle the key phrases about activity. (3) Match. 【设计意图】1、带着预设的答案来听和指读课文，既培养了孩子们指读的习惯，也增加了孩子们对阅读的兴趣。2、让孩子学会自己总结并提炼这三幅图的主要信息,训练阅读技巧。

5. Picture 5，6 【设计意图】1、通过让学生观察兔子的表情，给孩子提供了自由表达的机会，体现了课堂的生成性。2、基于目前学生的学***，学生离开情景进行表达会有困难，所以借助教具创设真实的情景，使孩子们的表达有了载体，使孩子们乐于表达，敢于表达。3、回归课本，感知句子在课本情境中的具体应用。

(5) Role play 【设计意图】引导学生六人一组讨论故事并分角色表演故事。

【设计意图】1、让孩子们理解在生活中做任何事都要坚持到底，不能放弃。2、给孩子们分享一本和本课主题有关的绘本，用简单的语言激发孩子看的欲望，让孩子们喜欢阅读，乐于阅读。

1. Try to retell the story.

【设计意图】有感情地给父母复述故事，鼓励孩子们模仿语音语调。

2. Read the new story.

【设计意图】让孩子们喜欢阅读，让阅读成为一种生活习惯。
