This period is about speaking and listening

.while practising speaking and listening

,the useful words,expressions and structures learned in the reading part can also be reviewed by the students .At the same time,They can

consolidate what they learnt in the reading part,and learn the grammar about the -ing form as the object complement.

suggested answers are as follows: One day, a teacher walking along the road saw five boys standing around an animal. He came up and found a thin hungry dog looking very frightened. He asked the boys what they were going to do with it. The boys said they were just deciding the one who told the biggest lie should have the dog.

Then\ At this, the teacher became very angry. He talked to the boys about truth and honesty. He also told them that he never told a lie when he was their age. At last\ After a long silence, the boys decided that the teacher should have the dog. After listening, continue the story. The story is to be continued. What do you think would happen next? How do you think the teacher when he was offered the dog? Stuents again in groups of four to cooperate and discuss to give their opinions freely

A possible version is as follow:

At first, the teacher felt embarrassed when he was offered the dog because he had not expected so. Then, he explained to the boys that he would love the dog but it was impossible for him to take good care of it as he had much work to do every day. However, he told them the best way to choose the dog owner was to find out the one who could take great care of it. Finally, they decided that Tony would be the dog owner because he had the experience of raising animals and he promised to take it out for walks every day. Step Ⅴ Summary What have we learnt today? Ask the students to summarize what they learned and then I repeat and summarize what has been learned in this class

Let me tell you what we learned in today’s English class. At first,

we tried to put the words

in order to make an interesting sentence. Then, we talked about the humorous pictures, with the sentence pattern “I saw sb. doing sth.”

Next,

we listened to a funny story. Before listening, we predicted what it would be about according to a picture. After listening, we discussed about what would happen to the teacher next, which was full of fun. In this way, we learned how to tell a story.
