⑴Knowledge Aims

My students should learn the four-skilled words “breakfast”“lunch”“dinner”“eleven” and “twelve”. They also should learn some verb phrases such as “wake up”and “hurry up”. Some important structures should be learned by my students such as “What time is it?” “It’s ……o’clock.”“It’s time for……”

⑵Ability Aims

To enable my students to grasp the new words and phrases and to use the sentence structures “What time is it?” “It’s ……o’clock.” and “It’s time for……” in real situation.

To develop my students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

⑶Emotional Aims

To encourage my students to learn independently and cooperatively.

To enhance my students’ sense of time and let them learn to cherish time.

3. Teaching Key/Difficult Points

Mastering the words and verb phrases is important.

Using the structures, such as “What time is it?” “It’s ……o’clock.”and “It’s time for……”is difficult.

Step 1 Warm Up

1. Greeting

T: OK, It’s time for class. Class begins.

S: Stand up!

T: Good morning, class

S: Good morning, Miss…

T: Nice to meet you.

S: Nice to meet you, too.

T: Sit down, please.

2. Sing a song: The number song

3. Free-talk: What is the song about? (review number 1-10)

Step 2 Pre-reading

1. Magic eyes

T: OK, from the song, we know the numbers. Here is a game help us recall more numbers. T: Let’s play the game: Magic eyes. Ready？

S: GO!

T：(one, two, three, four….ten, 11)Who can speak and spell the word “eleven”. T: Let’s count from one to eleven.

S: One, two, three, four, six…eleven.

T: Next one？Twelve.

T: Look at the picture. What is it? (show a clock)

S: ….

2. Learn “clock”

and “o’clock”

T: It’s a clock.

T: What’s this?

S: It’s a clock.

T: Is this your clock?

S: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.

T: Look, it’s a clock. Clock can tell us the time.

T: What time is it?

S: Eight…

T: Yes, it’s eight o’clock. (change the time and ask students more questions about time)

3. Let students work in pairs to practice “What time is it?

” “It’s … o’clock.

4. Learn “It’s time for….”

T: Yes, It’s eight o’clock. It’s time for class.

T: What time is it?

S: It’s eight o’clock

T: It’s time for class.

S: OK/ All right.

5. Learn “breakfast”, “lunch”, “dinner”.

T: Look, the clock is moving. What time is it?

S: It’s seven o’clock

T: It’s time for breakfast.

T: Here are three pictures (pictures with clocks).

Which one would you like to choose as the “breakfast”.

T: What about the other two pictures.
