Module II Unit 1 Cultural relics

设计思路：

本单元的话题是“文化遗产”。通过学习本单元，学生应该对中国和世界上著名的文化遗产（包括人文的和自然的）有所了解，并且能够用英语说出它们的名称。此外，通过思考、讨论文化遗产的归属问题，树立文物保护意识。

本单元分为6课时。Period 1 Warming up and Reading (I)-In search of the Amber Room首先让学生对文化遗产的定义和划分有所了解，同时呈现部分生词。然后通过阅读了解琥珀屋。Period 2 Language points主要学习阅读课文中的单词、短语及句型。Period 3 Grammar—Restrictive attributive clause and Non-restrictive attributive clause介绍限定性定语从句和非限定性定语从句，学生应该掌握关系代词、关系副词的正确使用，记住在非限定性定语从句中不能用that。Period 4 Reading (II) and Writing阅读部分通过介绍fact和opinion的定义，结合琥珀屋的轶事，帮助学生将所学内容与实际判断相结合。然后围绕不同的人对待文化遗产的不同态度进行写作练习，引发学生思考，增强文化遗产保护意识。Period 5 Listening and Speaking是围绕有关话题对听、说能力进行训练，学生应掌握用英语表达看法或征求意见。Period 6 Revision让学生学会归纳总结重点，并复习本单元所学的知识。

Period 3 Grammar—Restrictive attributive clause and Non-restrictive attributive clause 本节课的教学设计：

Teaching aims：

The attributive clauses with that/ which/ who/ where/ when. Focus：

Enable Ss to know how to use the relatives that/ which/ who/ where/ when properly. Teaching steps：

Step 1: Dictation 10 words and expressions taken from the text Step 2: Grammar T introduces a sentence taken from the reading passage: This gift was the Amber Room, which was given this name because almost seven thousand tons of amber were used to make it. T lets Ss find out more similar attributive clauses from Warming up, Pre-reading and Reading, and then asks some Ss to explain them. T explains the rules of Restrictive and Non-restrictive clauses(见教材P85-86). Step 3: Practice

1. T asks some Ss to do these exercises on the blackboard: P4 Ex2 1, 3, 5 P4 Ex3 1, 3, 5 P43 Using structures 1, 3, 5, 7 2. 完成《学生用书》“课课练”有关练习
