The material is the reading and writing part of unit 4 from Students’ Book 2. In this period, Students will learn a blog about transportation in New York and get to Analysis of the Teaching Material know the advantages of four means of transportation in New York. Then students will finish a new travel blog according to the given information. 1.Knowledge Objective:

1) Students

can master the new words about transportation in the blog: traffic jam, rush hour, blog, carpooling, workplace, convenient, strange…; 2) Students can get the main idea of the blog and talk about the advantages of four means of transportation in the blog; 3) Students can write a new blog with the given information. 2.Ability Objective:

Step1 Lead-in ( 3 mins) Activity 1.

A guessing game. The teacher presents some key words about Chongqing, and let students guess. 2.

My trip in Chongqing. The teacher shows some pictures of transportation in Chongqing to attract students’

attention, thus it can review the words and sentences. 3.

My. Weibo. The teacher opens her Weibo and tells students that she wants to write her travel experience in Chongqing on Weibo.

1.The teacher shows a picture of transportation in Chongqing, and then asks students work in pairs to think and discuss:

What’s the transportation like in Chongqing? What causes traffic jams in big city? 2. Students have already done the homework of the causes of traffic jams before class, so they can present their answers by groups. Then the teacher will check the answers by presenting the reasons with pictures. 3. The teacher presents Wang Lu’s blog and says: “I also found an interesting blog when I look through Weibo. She wrote something interesting about New York. ”.

4. Then the teacher plays a video clip about New York to let students know the city better. There are 6 tasks in this class. The students need to challenge themselves to finish all the tasks. 1. Fast reading. (skimming) Task 1.

I also apply many interesting pictures, network resources, self-made videos and other modern teaching ways to help attract students’ interest so as to solve the problems in the article effectively. However, a few students can’t totally achieve the ability aims. I need to give more supplements for them after class.
