1. Knowledge aims:

(1) Teacher helps students to understand and know how to read and write new words: breakfast, lunch, dinner, eleven, twelve, bed.

(2) Teacher helps students to understand and know how to read new sentences: What time is it? It’s ... o’clock. It’s time for breakfast/class/...

2. Ability aims:

(1) Students can read and understand new words and new sentences.

(2) Students know how to use new words and new sentences correctly.

3. Emotional aim:

Students learn to arrange their time reasonably.

Teaching important point: Students understand new words and new sentence structures.

Teaching difficult point:Students know how to ask and answer questions about time.

Teaching procedure:

Step 1 Warming up

1. Greeting

2. Watch a movie: What time is it?

(Students watch and follow the movie)

(This step is to arouse students interest to have an English lesson.)

Step 2 Pre-reading

1. Present the title: What time is it?

2. Show goals for this lesson

(1) I can read and act the story.

(2) I can ask and answer questions about time.

(3) I can arrange my time reasonably.

3. Play a game: Magic eyes

When you see the number, please say it quickly and loudly.

(This step aims at making students prepared to learn the story time.)

Step 3 While-reading

1. Learn new words.

Teacher teaches students how to read new words: eleven, twelve. Students read in rolls and read to their desk mates.

2.Let’s say.

PPT presents four pictures of clock. Teacher leads students to practice key sentences “What time is it? It’s ... o’clock.”

3. Watch the cartoon and number.

PPT presents four pictures of story time. Students watch the cartoon first and then number.

4. Read and match.

Teacher teaches students how to read new words: breakfast, dinner with vivid pictures.

Students read the story time by themselves first and then do the match exercise. 5.Let’s read together.

(1) Students follow the radio and imitate the pronunciation and intonation with actions.

(2) Students read the story time again. Teacher gives some explanations to help students understand the text.

(Various activities are designed to help students have a better understanding of the

text.)
