Step1 Lead-in

Know what we are going to learn this class Show some pictures about a piece of amber

Ask the students to read the title and the picture of the reading passage and predict what it is about. Make the students know the topic which we are going to learn- In search of the amber room.

Step2 Pre-reading Know some knowledge about Amber Ask the students some questions as follows: 1.Do you know if amber is natural or man-made? 2..Do you know where it comes from? 3.Do you know how many colors there are?

Help the students to know more about Amber by discussing the questions on PPT.

Step3 Self-learning(Reading ) Know the strange history of the Amber Room.

Get the students know and understand the reading passage by Skimming and Scanning. The questions are on the PPT Help the students understand the passage and improve the students’ ability of reading.

Step4 Discussing and talking

Help the students improve their reading and speaking ability by finishing a task.
