40 minutes blackboard time The students can’t read the text fast,because they can’t recognize many words in the text, so I just let them answer some simple questions and lead them to finish some Exx patiently.

Teaching procedures Step Ⅰ Greetings.

Step Ⅱ Lead In T: Do you like travelling? PPT some pictures of beautiful places to arouse their interest of travelling.

Step Ⅲ Pre-reading Show PPT of the Mekong River and the brief introduction of it. Ask them to discuss and list the countries that the Mekong River flows through.

Step IV Reading 1.Skim the first two paragraphs and answer the following questions.
