本课是新标准英语(三年级起始)四年级上册第一模块第一单元的内容。本
模块教学主题是“Directions”。本节课教学内容是与方向有关的句子和问路的礼貌用语。本课的教学对象是四年级学生,这些学生大多活泼好动,具有一定的会话能力。因此,教师在教学中试图通过创设贴近学生生活实际的教学情境、有真实交流意义的操练活动去吸引学生,激发他们的学习兴趣,帮助学生在感知、体验和参与中习得语言知识,促进思维能力的发展,提升语言运用能力。
一、教学目标
1.学生能够听说、认读表示方位的词组turn left/turn right/go straight on,学
习运用句型“Where's ...?”。
2.学生能运用句型“Where's ...?”“turn left/turn right/go straight on”问
路和指路。
3.培养学生讲礼貌的品质,请人帮忙要用“Excuse me ......,please.”礼貌用
语,培养学生乐于助人的感情。
二、教学重难点
1.教学重点:left / right/ straight的正确发音,会说、理解并掌握句子“Turn left. Turn right. Go straight on.
2.教学难点:运用句型“Where's ...?”“turn left/turn right/go straight on”
问路和指路。
三、教具准备
单词图片、词卡,句子卡片、多媒体课件、
学习单等。
四、教学过程
Step 1Warm up 1. Greetings
2. Game: Sharp eyes.
(1)Ss look at the pictures and say the words: zoo, school, park.
(2)Lead in new words: cinema, supermarket (super+man=superman super+ market=supermarket) Step 2 Presentation

Help the man. T: Look at this man. He is in trouble. He doesn’t know these signs. Do you want to help him?
Ss: Yes. 2.Look and say The teacher show some direction marks and teach new words :turn left/turn right/go straight on. 3. Game Time (1) Stand and read.
Ss stand and read the words: turn left/turn right/go straight on/cinema/supermarket. (2)Let’s chant
Left, left, turn left.
Right, right, turn right.
On, on, go straight on. (3)What’s missing
Practice the 3 phrases: turn left/right/go straight on. 4. Help the man.
Man: Excuse me, where’s the cinema, please?
S1: Turn right. Go straight on.

Step 3 Learn the text. 1. Learn picture 1 T: What can you see in the picture?
