Teaching Design for Reading Comprehension, Unit1 A land of Diversity

教材内容分析： 本单元主要围绕打破世界记录这一话题展开。Warming up引入从奥运比赛中，中国选手破纪录者来引起学生的兴趣；阅读文章则是一篇类似介绍性文章，介绍了Ashrita Furman这个世界上破记录最多的人。Learning about language部分则复习词性变化。第二篇阅读文章介绍4名中外奥运选手。

学生分析：

学生进入高三，已经完成了Book1-8的学习。作为高三的开始，我们选择book 9unit1作为开始，一方面有利于突破学生自以为学习词汇的思维定势，其次以人物为开篇，有益于培养学生的坚强意志，向优秀人物学习。
