Using Language: A fact or an opinion

Teaching Aims: 1. Let students know the definition of fact and opinion. 2. Encourage students to search the useful information in Ipad. 3. Let students learn the usage of new words and phrases by themselves. Teaching important and difficult points: 1. Understand the text well. 2. Try to master the useful new words & expressions in this period. 3. Develop the students’ reading ability.

Read the passage quickly and answer the question:

Para.1. What is a fact ?

A fact is anything that can be proved. Para.2. What is an opinion ?

An opinion is what someone believes is true but has not been proved. Para.3. What is evidence?

Evidence is true information which must be facts rather than opinions.


