Lucky for me, I have a chance to travel to Australia this coming spring festival. Besides those big cities like Sydney and Melbourne, I am also thinking about going to the wild of Australia, to see those animals. Do you think I should go?
The problem is: I have heard much of the dangerous animals in Australia. Sometimes these dangerous animals even kill or eat humans! I am a bit afraid. I really can’t decide. In your group discuss the best ways to protect yourself from each of the dangerous animals in the reading passage .The following information will help you . 1.
Saltwater crocodiles are found a long way from settlements only in the far north of Australia near rivers and waterholes. There are usually signs to warn people that crocodiles are in the area. Crocodiles stay hidden in the water or on the land close to water. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
2.
Many beaches have shark nets to keep sharks away from swimmers. In hot weather, small planes fly along the coast looking out for sharks. If one is spotted an alarm is sounded to warn people to get out of the water. ___________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________________________ 3.
Spiders are usually found in dark, dry places, under stones or amongst rubbish. The poison is slow acting so there is plenty of time to get to the hospital. ____________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________ 4.
When jellyfish are close to the beach, you usually find a few dead ones on the beach. Vinegar can help relieve the sting of jellyfish. If a person has trouble breathing or becomes unconscious, they should be taken to hospital immediately. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Talking and Simple Writing So after we have learned detailed information about the dangerous creatures in Australia and discussed ways to protect ourselves, do you think: I should go to see the wild of Australia? Actually it’s a camping trip in the northern territory.
On one hand, the trip is organized by a well known company with good reputation, meaning to say, it is supposed to be safe, and it is lots of fun and I can see lots of wildlife. On the other hand, you see, these creatures are still dangerous and some people did die from these creatures. I am still a bit scared. Besides, there’re also a lot to see in Sydney. So I really can’t make a decision. Can you give me some advice? What do you think?( Ask several Ss).
Thanks for your advice. I can understand you. But if you can organize your words and write it down, it will be better. You can write in this way. ...
In my opinion, you should (not) go on the camping trip in the Northern Territory . ____Initially,
Additionally,/In addition/What is more important is that…
Last but not least/In conclusion/Most importantly.
VI.
Homework Dear Mary,
I learned that you can’t decide whether to go on a camping trip in the Northern Territory or not. In my opinion, you should (not) go on the camping trip in the Northern Territory .
