Step 2 Warming up

5 Lead in the minutes topic.Walk in the class , encouraging Ss to get involved in the free talk, or helping

solve some of what they didn’t understand before class.

1. The teacher draws a map of Australia on the blackboard. Then the students will easily know what they will learn later. 2.Play the national song of Australia, and thus may arouse their interest and keep them in high spirits. 3.Encourage the students to talk about some animals in Australia. Teacher can show them some vivid pictures. 4.By using the map drawn on the blackboard, the teacher then encourage the students to talk about the geographic features and the locationof Austraila. 5.Encourage the students to discuss the big cities in Australia, and ask some students to mark the cities on the map.

Prepare for the text reading. Step 4 Reading Skimming:Read for key words IRS/ 1.What will the passage tell us? PPT 2.Read the passage quickly and match the main idea of each paragraph. Scanning: (a reading skill used to look for details of a passage) Students are asked to read the title and subtitles of the text and match each part with a proper description

Careful-reading 1Ask the students to read the first part carefully, noting that they should try to remember as much information as they can. Then the students have to listen to this part again and then try to finish the excises without referring to the text. 2.

Ask only one student to read part two, and then all the students have to finish the exercise True Or False. 3.

Listen to part three and then students are asked to discuss with each other about the two different routes mentioned in this part and what they see on the way . Then the teacher should use the map 3 To check the students’

understanding of the text.

By doing this, the students can learn to grasp the key words and then get the main idea and the structure of the whole text.

Two or four students a PPT/ group .They should make a paper dialogue . exercise

this activity not only help the students to remember the contents of the text but also train the students speaking ability. It successfully make students to put what they have learned into practice. )
