Unit 6 What time is it? Teaching aims: 1.

Students can read ,say the words: wake up, mum,o’clock,breakfast,lunch,dinner. 2.

Students are expected to read and say the sentences : “What time is it?---It’s ...o’clock. It’s time for class,dinner,/.... 3.

Students will be able to use the sentences to ask the time and answer it in daily lives. Teaching importance and difficulties: 1.

Master the vocabulary:breakfast,lunch,dinner,bed,o’clock, wake up. 2.

Use the following sentences correctly:

What time is it? ---It’s ...o’clock.

It’s time for...

Teaching methods :communicative method, ask-and-answer activity

Teaching aids: PPT , tape recorder, pictures

Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm up

1.Say a Rhyme:

One , two,three ,four

Come in please and close the door. Five ,six, seven,eight Time for class, but you’re late. Nine, ten,nine,ten Don’t be late for class again.

Review the numbers

1.T: Boys and girls, you did a good job in numbers, let’s say the numbers together: Ss:One ,two ,three ,four,five,six,seven,eight,nine,ten. T : This line, please take turns to say the numbers (一竖排学生按顺序说出数字）

T：Great.But can you say the numbers from ten to one? Ss say together

T:Oh, it’s time for class. Are you ready? Ss: Yes. T：（利用图片板书句型）What time is it?

对time进行解释，并齐读句型。

Introduce XiYangyang and learn some new words T: Look, who is he ?

Ss: XiYangyang. T: How old is he? What does he like doing? S: He is three. T: (帮助学生回答）He likes drawing . Now he is drawing sth with numbers, what is it?

Ss:.... T: Now let’s count with me : one,two,three....ten,eleven,twelve. Oh, it’s a clock. (板书单词eleven,twelve,clock,以不同方式带领学生读）

T：Look at this clock. Can you ask the time? Ss: What time is it? T: It’s eight o’clock. （板书o’clock并教授新词）

Step 2 Learn and practice 1.

Show a clock and direct Ss to ask time

S1: What time is it?

S2:It’s three o’clock. T: Good job. We can also say: “What time is it,please?” to show politeness.

Play a game T: Look at these clocks ,can you say the time quickly? Ss:... T: Now let’s ask and answer the time in pairs A: What time is it(,please)?

B:It’s ...o’clock.

S:It’s seven o’clock. T : Oh, it’s time for school. XiYangyang must go to school now. 板书句型：It’s time for ... 并齐读，点名读，按顺序读等方式练习。
