Module 4 Unit 3 A Taste of English Humor Reading: A Master of Nonverbal humor

Teaching Aims: 1. To get the students to have a good understanding of the structure and content of the passage. 2. To have students figure out the reasons for Charlie Chaplin’s success by reading the details. 3. To encourage students to give a brief description by using some words and phrases we learnt.

Teaching procedures: Step1:Lead-in

Show a video and answer questions.

Step2: Reading 1.

Read fast for the information of Charlie Chaplin and the main idea of each paragraph. 2.

Have a discussion and find out supporting details resulting in Charlie Chaplin’s success. 3.

Read for more details to describe his classic character:the tramp .

Step3: Activity

Describe another tramp犀利哥, using the words and phrases we learnt as many as we can. Step 4: Homework 1.Write down your story after class. 2. Students’Book (P20) Ex. 2.
