A Teaching Plan Unit4 Wildlife Protection—Listening & Writing (Module 2) For Senior Grade One

Target language Words: feather, skin, beak, tray, nest, observer, container, bush 2.

Ability goals Enable the students to learn that an organization is working to save birds affected by oil pollution in the sea and to catch the main idea of the interview. Enable the students to discuss and plan an area where birds can live in safety and produce their eggs in peace. 3.

Learning ability goals Help the students learn how to get the information by extensive listening. Help the students to learn how to write a paragraph on how to design a place for watching birds. Teaching important & difficult points

Listen to the materials and get the information in general or in detail.

Enable the students to make some plans and explain why.

Step 1 Introduction

Introduce the teaching contents and goals to the students.

Step 2 Listening Task 1.

Introduction: We are concerned about （关心）birds and wonder what we can do about them. Listen and then find out what the spokesperson（代言人）, Alice Jones, has to say. 2.

Task 1: Look at the pictures on Page 66 and predict (预测）what the listening will be about . ( Pairwork)

Task 2: Listen to Part A again and then choose what the most difficult part of the work is according to Alice. 4.

Task 3: Go over the following passage, guessing the meaning of

the unknown words. Listen to Part A once more and fill in the blanks. Choose one word for each blank. →check with the students. 5.

Task 4: Listen to Part B again and write down the two steps the IBRRC usually takes to help those birds.

Task 5: Help the students to talk about the skills needed in listening. 7.

Help the students to finish the self-evaluation.

Step 3 Writing Task 1.

Introduction: Introduce the writing goals to the students. 2.

Explanation: Present some pictures to help the students write some sentences. 3.

Writing: Give the students ten minutes to finish their writing. 4.

Partner-reviewing: Help the students to do partner-reviewing. 5.

Evaluation: Ask some students to tell the story. 6.

Sample writing: Give a sample writing to the students if time permits.

Step 4 Homework

Rewrite the writing as well as you can.
