3. Blackboard. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Greetings and leading-in: Ask the students to look at the picture on the screen and tell what it is about. As is well-known to all, the Great Wall is one of the world cultural relics. This class let’s go on with the study of unit 1 Cultural Relics Using Language.

As an old saying goes(俗话说): He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man;

Where there is a will, there is a way; No pains, no gains;

Nothing is impossible.

Step 2: Show the teaching aims for the students. Step 3: New lesson: .1.

Ask the students to look at the two sentences to tell whether they are facts or opinions.

The Great Wall is one of the world cultural relics.

The Great Wall is very great and beautiful.(opinion)

Ask the students why they think it is a fact or an opinion.

Play the tape and ask the students to listen and finish the exercises.

After listening, discuss the exercises together 3.

Ask the students to read the first passage and check their answers of listening.

Ask the students to read the second passage to fill in the blanks of the form.

Then do pairwork to discuss. Discuss together. 5.

Ask the students to finish their own reports, using their own experiences to fill in the blanks
